Councilmembers Meeting the Challenge
|

What's this about?
On Tues, Feb. 23, 2010, a friendly challenge was issued to the City of Burien City Council, staff and city employees to register for the Cove to Clover 5K or Family Race to be held on March 14, 2010. The challenge is to register as many people from the City's ranks as possible to participate in this truely grassroots community event. The challenge was issued by the 100% volunteer planning committee of the Cove to Clover.

Why rise to this challenge?
All race proceeds benefit the Highline Area Food Bank and Highline School District Schools. This partnership between business/non-profit/government is something that the City should foster to encourage other groups to follow this path.
How does the challenge work?
Anyone registering that enters "BTOWN" into the "Registation Code" field of the online or paper entry form helps increase the challenge total.

(fees increase $5 March 1; $10 more on race day)
Registration is also available at Mick Kelly's |
I'm not a runner, so it's not for me!
Consider walking the 5K or Family Race. Excercise not for you? Consider sponsoring a lower income need-based student runner at the Tin Room. Otherwise, jump the free shuttle to the startline, watch the free band, hop the shuttle back to the finish line, watch the free band, enjoy the beer and Irish fare.
Okay, I signed up. Now what?
Issue your own personal challenge to your co-workers. A little type-A albeit, but worth the effort. Besides, Snake Hill is way more fun with a friend.
What is our fundraising goal?
By striving for a high level of participation, you'll be setting the bar for the Normandy Park challenge which will be issued next year. Make your goal to be unstoppable.
Together we can make an even greater positive impact on our community's hungry citizens (and have fun along the way)!
THANKS FOR SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY!!! |
