Angel Program Overview
Angel sponsors can register online. Please sponsor as many students as you wish for a discounted rate of $25 each. Each sponsorship is a full registration with timing chip, bib and shirt.
The Athlete Angel program has been promoted throughout the Highline Schools District schools.
Angel Recognition
On race day, please stop by the registration table for a free gift signifying your commitment to our to our local youth athletes. Angels can choose to be included on a plaque to be publicly displayed at Mick Kelly's Irish Pub in Burien.
What happens if there are more angels than students?
While we don't anticipate that situation, if we end up with more angels than students applying for a sponsorship, we will donate the extra funds will to this year's race charities (including Highline Area Food Bank, Hospitality House and Highline Schools Fund for Excellence).
How do students apply for an Angel sponsorship?
Free and reduced lunch students are encouraged to ask their school counselors for about a sponsorship. The counselor then simply emails angels@covetoclover.com requesting an Angel code (expires after one use) for the student. The student can use code to register online for no fee by entering it into the "Angel Code" field. Students are awarded sponsorships on a first-come/first served basis, so qualified and interested students should apply ASAP.
If your school counselor isn't unfamiliar with the program, have them email angels@covetoclover.com to get them started. Email angels@covetoclover.com with your own questions/concerns or frustrations.
Do Angel Sponsorships count in the School Registration Contest?
Absolutely. Simply enter the school name in the "Registration Code" field when you register as an Angel. We will do everything in our power to match students from that school with your sponsorship(s). After students from your school are covered, the sponsorship will then be opened to students from other school. Targeting a school will also give credit to that school in the School Registration Contest.

In 2011, we matched 138 anonymous "angel" sponsors to student runners needing assistance. Also thanks to a gracious donation from the Shoemaker family, we were able to purchase 25 pair of running shoes for runners in need of adequate footware. We hope to expand the shoemaker program as well as the Angel program.
