5K / 10K (Run or Walk) — Beat the Snake Sunday, March 11th 5K Start: 1 pm; 10K Starts: 12:30 pm ("The Cove" to Burien Town Square) This is like no other 5K / 10K you have run. It is hard; suffering is the name of the game as you climb nearly 500 ft up the ominously named "Snake Hill". Indeed, it is brutal but at the top of the hill runners are rewarded with the ethereal music of a Highland piper and beautiful views of Puget Sound. Wee (Family) Race - (Run or Walk)Sunday March 11th at 1:40 pm (St. Francis to Burien Town Square) Other than overcoming "The Uprising", this is a great flat course for younger or rookie runners.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-up - Sunday, March 11

NOTICE: ALL race-day registration (including 10K) and packet pickup is at Burien Town Square from 10 am-12:30 pm.

IMPORTANT:  NO REGISTRATION AT THE 5K/10K/Wee start lines!!  SHOW UP at your startline with your race # and timing chip in hand. 

5K / Wee Race

USE THE FREE SHUTTLE!!! Free gear check provided at finish line. Ride the free shuttle to either 5K or Wee race the start lines.  Free indoor entertainment at the start line from 10:30-12:30 pm.  Free coffee at 5K start line provided by Burien Press. Sorry, no dogs allowed on the shuttle. 

10K

NO SHUTTLE for 10K!!! Free gear check provided at finish line. Pick up registration on Sat or Sunday (early) and drive to the Normandy Park Towne Center.  Sorry for the inconvenience (too complicated to change). 

"The UPRISING" -- MEANER/BIGGER for 2012

A runner obstacle, set amidst a Celtic battle re-enactment. Yes, you can go around but runners are encouraged to participate. If you do decide to go around, it will be about 0.05 mile longer. Lead runners will have a decision to make. For certain, the bragging rights go with tackling "The Uprising" while maintaining your lead. You'll have to join us on race day to fully appreciate all the elements that make up "The Uprising".

Register Early

To get the best price and insure a t-shirt will be waiting for you on race day. Fees increase $5 on March 1 and by $10 on race day. T-shirts for late registrants can be retrieved at Mick Kelly's approximately 3 weeks after the race.

Finish Line Party

Mick Kelly's Charity Beer Garden, Free Kid's Root Beer Garden, Live Celtic Entertainment.  Free Hot Dogs kids sporting their runner bib #.

SHUTTLE - Provided Free to 5K / Wee Startlines from Finish Line

Shuttles should be taken from Burien Town Square to the start lines from 10 am to 1:20 pm. Live band will be entertaining at the 5K start line for early arrivals.  Shuttle drops off at both the Family Race and 5K start lines. (Parking extremely limited at the 5K start line. PLEASE USE THE FREE Tours Northwest SHUTTLE)

Before jumping on the shuttle to head to the startline party, check your gear at the free gear check.

Other Details

• Pets are allowed but please be at the back of the pack for safety of all runners.
• Wheelchairs? There is an official wheelchair for each race. Wheelchair athletes will start 5 minutes prior to the general wave in each race.
